Project Background
One of the most important problems of the young people is being in the central of the social and cultural conflicts among the generations. This situation sometimes occurs according to economic, socio-cultural and cyclical issues, but the methods are similar for the solutions.
The problems occur because the generations want to impose their lifestyle to the other. The individuals expect the people sharing the same living environment think, behave, live, and give reactions as he does. The frequency of this expectation is higher in low cultural level and crowded families.
Project objectives
Our project aims to search and learn the lifestyles of small and large families living in different social, cultural, economic and geographies, help them determine the problems and issues and their solutions which occurs in such families, take pictures and record videos of their lifestyles, prepare a theatre play about their experience, display these plays in an ironic way so that they will increase their theatric skills, develop their individual abilities and digital competences.
Activities:
Our Project aims to discuss and solve the generation gap problems of the young people occurred in their families in their perspectives.
In the project, the participants will visit people from different socio economic and socio cultural backgrounds, do research on their lifestyles, roles in the family and expectations of the other family members from the individual. The participant young people will make their research a report including their opinions.
They will get determine the target towns, villages and families by the help of well-known people in the region and get appointment from these sample families. They will interview with these people living in different economic, cultural and social communities in the neighborhood of the districts in the city, town and village and record short films about the lifestyles. Getting ideas from the researches and short films, a theatre play in an ironic way will be prepared having the theme of a daily routine in a crowded family, with the help of literature teachers in our school. The content of the theatre will reflect the youth problems in the perspective. The written play will be displayed by the participants in at least two high schools with the help of literature teachers.
The number and profile of the Participants
In both regions, the participants will be selected among the young people who have social economic and cultural disadvantages. The participant young people have serious problems in realizing their personal development, being participative and expressing themselves. There will be 14 participants from each partner region (total 28 people) and their age period will be between 18 and 25. The number of the girls and boys will be equal.
Methodology:
Project activities will be implemented in a wholistic approach. The participants will be informed at the beginning of each activity and then they will produce the activities according to the instructions. Finally the outcomes and products will be presented to the public. Professionals will help the young people while they are recording documentaries, taking photos, writing theatre scripts. The young participants will participate in al project activities because they will be appropriate to their participation. The young participants will be divided into groups and each member of the groups will change their roles during the implementation of the activities.
Results:
The participants will gain new theoretical and practical knowledge during the preparation and implementation processes of the Project. They will improve their integration abilities, linguistic and cultural competences, empathy feelings, self esteem, team spirit, European citizenship, active participation, effective communication among people. While recording the documentaries, taking photos and presenting them, they will also develop their digital competences and basic skills. They will build friendships with people from other cultures, develop their citizenship, active participative kills and European citizenship.
Long Term effects-benefits:
The certificates which will be given at the end of the Project will enrich the CV’s of the young participants and they will be able to use these certificates for the future EU projects as references.
Project outcomes will be sent via mails to the Ministry of Culture and European Culture Agencies, so the Project results will be disseminated in International level.
Our Project will contribute to the quality of Youth support systems in national and international area and increase the cooperation between youth organizations in Europe.
