Trash-Formers
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Thrash-Formers is a youth exchange program held in Agárd, at the Lake of Velence, 25.07.2014-03.08.2014. The program will be attended by 36 young adults from 7 different countries. Having observed the negative side-effects of shopping- and festival-tourism on our environment, we target to find solutions on recycling issues and a sustainable life for locals. The program will take 8 days. The attendees will first get trough the theoretical background then will seek effective recycling techniques working in every home. The gargbage to work with in this activity will be collected from the beach during flashmobs and also will be picked up from the lake while canouing. The attendees will also build a playground along with the locals and will learn together how to produce bio-brikett. This action will commonly change the approach of the attendees as well as of the locals, what may contribute to further achievments outside of Hungary too. Our main objective is to build a working knowledge for the attendees in the recycling subject, that they can actively share with others back in their home countries. As recycling is a global issue we aim to share our results with as many people as possible. For this purpose we set up our Facebook group that will remain acitve after the exchange program too and keep providing new ideas and recycling techniques.
