REALIZE: comprehend and actualise Transcultural Biographical experience.The project intends to join the competences of the partners in Biography Work, transcultural learning and adult education in order to design and test course modules on Transcultural Biography Work (TBW) to be implemented in extra-occupational adult education. The course addresses actual and future professionals who work with migrants. Biography Work is a proved approach in adult education (e.g. by LebensMutig e.V.Gesellschaft für Biographiearbeit). It stimulates learning processes to strengthen self-awareness, to overcome inner barriers anchoring in social processes like gendering, social marginalisation. Transcultural learning supports the transcultural competence development of individuals as participating members of hybrid, changing societies. The reason for the project is to adapt Biography Work as a means to develop transcultural competence and to qualify professionals who support people with migrant background to facilitate their access to systems of education, lifelong learning and qualification for labour market.Results:- Modules adapted for 4 countries, 24 hours on average per course- Workshop for 10 pilot courses instructors - 4 pilot courses with 15 participants each - Course evaluation- Project homepage- Manual in English depicting the modules and experiences with courses - printed and electronic version - International conference in Vilnius- Final conference in Innsbruck- Qualification of course participants to apply Transcultual Biography WorkImpacts: - Availability of tested course modules- Transfer of an innovative approach to consortium countries- Implementation of course modules in programs of consortium members - Implementation in programs of further education centres- Improved capability of course participants to support their clients/customers- Improved capability of clients to create a successful lifelong learning biography and qualification for labour market.
