End date: Aug 31, 2018
PROJECT
FINISHED
Following the success of previous Léonardo project "Stage en Europe", which allowed 11 students to do a 6 weeks internship in Edinburgh, as for eight of them 4 weeks to Alcala de Henares, we decided to carry on offering our students the opportunity of a training period in The United Kingdom and in a Spain within a company. The project "Training in Europe" is designed for students in their final year of the three-year course of BTEC National Diploma in Management Administration, enrolled in the "European Class"in English language, and to students of 1st and final years in Sales Skills classes of the BTEC national Diploma in Spanish. These students benefit from a 2 hours class a week of their professional subjects in a foreign language. The possibility of doing the internship in another European country is an additional motivation for them. The English DNL teacher, the Spanish DNL teacher and 2 other language teachers including English teachers are the most involved in the project but all the educational team will be kept updated and ready to support any student requirements. Administrative and Board teams will monitor closely all the progress of the project, since its design up to the implementation and final report. From our previous projects experiences , partnerships were set up in Scotland and Spain. So, most of these organizations and companies have the exeperience in welcoming foreign students.During this training course time, students are going to improve their English or Spanish level, to put into practise their professional skills and get a better knowledge of the world of work in a foreign country. This project is a very rewarding experience for them as young adults ready to get a fresh start on the labour market : For some of them its their first time abroad , meeting different people in everyday life situations different from their daily lives .The "Europass" portfolio and the "Europro" certificate is a validation exam to assess their skills after this stay. The fact of being able to get the "European" distinction on the diploma and write it in their CV is very inspiring for students. Especially as they feel at a disadvantage regarding the curriculum of academic studies achieved by other students in our highschool. Students are more motivated and strengthened in their ambition to continue studying in hopefully passing The BTEC Higher National Diploma. School also will be rewardedin getting more fame and influence at a European level, but also at local and regional level in its academic standards .
