AEGEE- León will organize a youth exchange under the Key Action 1 of the new Erasmus + Programme . The activities will take place between Leon and La Vecilla (province of León) , in Spain, and the implementation dates will be from 3 to 11 September 2014.
The youth exchange will consist of five AEGEE locals with 5 participants plus one group leader each, making a total of 30 youngsters. We have chosen groups from different backgrounds, within and outside the European Union: Italy ( Catania), Hungary (Debrecen) , Serbia (Belgrade) , Macedonia (Skopje) and Spain (León), to provide a greater view as well as a linguistic diversity. We will count with the collaboration of one partner country neighbouring the EU in Erasmus + Programme, Serbia, thanks to whom we will foster the cooperation to integrate it into the EU.
Our project is based on two basic and another two complementary pillars: on one hand, European awareness and promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle, and on the other hand, promotion of multilingualism and management of ICT tools . The basic ones will be mixed throughout the development of the project, the third one will consist of a series of linguistic workshops led by the partners and the last one will always be present as a mean of dissemination of the results and feedback.
We will be staying between León and a village in the mountains to carry out the outdoor activities. Throughout the youth exchange the participants will be divided into groups -"houses"- and will compete various tests, such as gymkhanas, working groups and debates. The aim of the project is to provide participants with a greater awareness of European citizenship and its problems, and provide information on healthy lifestyle as well as increasing the use of new technologies, that are so widely spread today.
With this project, we try to improve the awareness of the participants about the European citizenship, to acquire new language skills to communicate and also to express themselves efficiently over the Internet.
