Training Era
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project comprises a group of 12 students of Car Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Automation and Control and Renewable Energies about to finish their vocational schooling. This corresponds to an initial qualification of level IV and confers on them an academic certification equivalent to the 12th year of schooling, plus a professional diploma. With this project, the students are intended to be in touch with other realities and experiences, broadening their horizons and giving them new prospects. The experience got in previous projects has proved that these actions are an irreplaceable asset to those youngsters who can profit from them. To contact during four weeks with other nationalities will permit them to improve their linguistic competences in a very authentic way. On the other hand, being most of the students people who have never been abroad the contact with other cultures is a unique experience very important to their personal and social education, contributing to the development of a universal spirit as well as a spirit of solidarity. The main targets of this project are: a) to provide the students with experiences in a real working environment; b) to observe different ways of organising the work; c) to ensure the development of their linguistic competences; d) to establish contacts ,creating collaborative connections with the companies and other host organisations; e) to create motivation in order to get better school results; f) to promote multi culturality. To reach these goals, we think that a stay of 4 weeks in any country should be the best option, and this stay could occur in January and February of 2015.During this time not only will the students have their training in the companies but they will also benefit from other activities, either cultural or social, to make possible their integration in the community. The referred activities may include visits to places of interest with local guides, the contact with the host families and with the local people so as to know the traditions and habits of the region, the contact with students from other countries, getting a different idea of what is meant by being a young European student. A 4-week- training period is based on the idea that it is the fundamental time to achieve the goals we are intended to and the choice of January and February is due to the fact that they are students attending the last year of their schooling and from march on they will be engaged in very specific tasks concerning the conclusion of their course, such as the preparation of their Career Aptitude Tests. Besides, some of them are interested in following their studies in the university and have to be prepared for the examinations which take place in june. For these reasons, the chosen training period seems to be the most suitable, avoiding any damage for the good school results the students aim at and letting them take the most profit from this experience. The host countries (Italy, Spain and Germany) are fundamental to the referred and important transfer of competences and skills in the European context and can provide the students with new professional and personal experiences. Besides, they are valuable as far as culture is concerned. Our group will be formed by students, whose ages range from 17 to 25, with satisfactory school results, showing a strong commitment and motivation to take part in the project. The participants’ selection will be based on these criteria. With this project the students are intended to be in touch with other realities and experiences, to perform tasks related to their areas of study, getting aware of the differences and similarities concerning different realities. Due to the different nationalities of the people involved, it is necessary a basic linguistic knowledge of the English language to solve everyday situations. Markets, industry and services today operate on a global level, so the creativity and the ability to solve problems are more valued than a merely productive attitude. Mass production is relocating to other economies (e.g. China or India).Teaching and vocational training must meet this challenge, adapting and introducing methods and practices that take into account this reality. In addition to the aims of this project, we consider that its principal asset meets this new prospect. The students will be able to practise the competences acquired during their course with a set of tasks outlined for the project. The coordinator of every course created a training plan to the different groups of students, ensuring its aims.
