FOR THE STUDENTS ´ TRAINING PRACTICES The goal of the project has been to bring the professional world closer to vocational students and to enable their integration into the working world in the European Union. Meka Vocational School has sent 15 students to Europe to complete their internship in different vocational programs: Nursing Assistants, Assistance to People in Need of Care, Business Management, , Automobile Electromechanics and Machinery Electromechanics. The activities carried out in the different host country´s work centers have been determined between the tutor of the educational center and the company instructor. In any case, these activities have been the ones corresponding to the professional needs of the program that our students have studied. Before beginning these activities, the students have completed training practices by means of master classes as well as practical experience in the workshop of the educational center. They have completed their training with active and collaborative methodologies and the completion of projects which aim to include the knowledge gained through different subjects. These students have also had the opportunity to receive English classes in the educational center, with the goal of reinforcing their knowledge and thus facilitate their integration into the host country. The results we expected with this project can be divided into the following categories: 1. - On a professional level, students have acquired work habits which are different from those adopted in their usual environment. 2. - On a personal level, students have had the chance to learn about other cultures, languages, and customs, gaining thus a rich experience. 3. - Meka Vocational School has been able to compare the training it offers to its students with training offered abroad, and share that training with citizens of Elgoibar. FOR THE STAFF MOBILITY PROJECT 7 members from Meka Lanbide Eskola management team have taken part in this project in order to get to know the management systems and organization of other educational centers in Europe. Our intention with this project has been to find new references, exchanging ideas and new ways of working and taking a close look at the organizational and operational aspects. In order to do this, ou partner in Holland (Deltion College) has organized workshops, conferences, seminars and visits to the different specialities of their own center. It has been about creating different directions for improving educational activities that benefit our surroundings, providing solutions to the demands of students, companies and, ultimately, to the whole of society. In the same way, we have had the chance to interact between different European educational centers in order to cooperate in finding new ways of acting, as we face the same problems. We have also shared experiences in order to take advantage of common efforts for the benefit of the community. This project expanded to more schools aims to renew the drive representing other ways to work in Vocational Training, recognizing good practices, assessing our progress and capturing ideas to address common challenges. The project has aimed to understand the good practices that other schools may be using at a European level to integrate them into the management of our center as well as in the teaching practice. Thus, we aim to obtain a training in continuous improvement for academic excellence. The main result to be obtained has been to achieve a Vocational Training of quality that nourishes from the surrounding environment in order to be useful as a link between different sectors of society satisfying their needs. And last but not least, this project seeked to achieve a number of more intangible results, such as an effective collaboration between different European Vocational training schools or the cooperation and transfer of knowledge and innovative experiences. The assessment of the project has been undertaken by records of the working groups meeting in Holland in order to set the deviation between the objectives and the achievements. Once the project has finished the participating teachers have fulfilled a satisfaction survey and a final report online.The planned dissemination of the experience and the results have been held in each of the websites of the participating centers and in the common MOODLE platform. The local and regional radio stations and other media have informed about the experience . Also, all the members of the school community have been informed of the experience by different means: website, department meetings, school magazine for staff (Barneinformatzen), staff meetings, parents association meetings… Furthermore, the coordinator of the project team has prepared a final report in electronic format and on paper, which has been disclosed among the different components of the educational community.
