Non profit organization Centaurus, o.z. was founded in December 2008. Centaurus, o.z. considering development and promotion of our region organizes activities dedicated to culture, history and environment. The " Traditional farmyard " focuses on ecology, art, history and builds on our previous EVS projects. The main idea of the project is a return to the original life of our ancestors in harmony with nature, to indigenous traditions and crafts. Our goal is to create a farmyard from the period 1500 BC to be part of the Slavonic settlements - Hradisko Železná. Farmyard will consist of eco - gardens, orchards, fields and fruit driers for small livestock. The project will be implemented on the farm Hradisko Železná, which is located 2 km from the village of Železná Breznica, Slovakia. The farm, which is situated in a remote area in a beautiful mountain setting, was built in 1997 and consists of a main building and several agricultural buildings. The main building is renovated with modern equipment. Currently, the horse farm contains 20 horses.Volunteer activities will be focused on improving skills in traditional crafts and technologies, in environmental protection and in filmmaking and organizing cultural events. Project duration is 24 months. Our organization is looking for four volunteers to long-term EDS - 12 months.Cooperation and new experiences gained in different countries can lead young people to mutual understanding with others and also to the re-evaluation of their own personal judgements. Such cooperation is at the same time a great contribution to our project as well as unforgettable experience for young volunteers and also our organization.
