The LdV-Partneship TCM -T&KE project "Town Centre Managers Training and Knowledge Exchange" was aimed at identifying a professional profile for Town Centre Managers by comparing the different experiences carried out in the countries where the different partners operate. Town Centre Management (TCM) is a (co-ordinated & pro-active) public-private partnership set up in town and city centres to respond more effectively to their operational and management needs and to ensure they maintain a pivotal role in local development and in people’s lives. The TCM -T&KE project proposed an attentive work of research and analysis of TCM schemes adopted in the different countries, the policy framework of the countries they operate in, the level of education of their staff, their skills and educational needs and the educational and TCM training offer at present state was carried out. The project terminated in June 2012 with the identification of the Town Centre Manager professional profile and the educational offer required in order for them to improve their performance and the presentation of a first TCM European White Paper.The TCM -T&KE consortium includes the most representative European organisations and associations that constantly deal with town centre management issues: Mentore Confcommercio Toscana (IT), Confcommercio nazionale (IT), Association of Town Centre Management – ATCM (UK), Confederación Empresarial de Comercio de Andalucía - CECA (Spain), Stadtmarketing Austria – österreichischer Dachverband für Standortentwicklung und management (Austria), Buurtsuper.be (Belgium), PMO - Personeels en Managementopleidingen voor KMO‘s (Belgium), EVTA European Vocational Training Association (Belgium), Kenniscentrum Handel (Netherlands).
