ToTrain is ToTransform the Future

In recent decades Europe became more and more diverse, the migration from South to North, from East to West, the increase of Diaspora in many countries in Europe is making today’s Europe culturally the most diverse continent. This cultural diversification also led to various social problems: intolerance, discrimination, exclusion, human rights violation, conflicts, etc and Intercultural dialogue and education is a major tool to create an intercultural (not only multicultural) and cohesive society without which it will be difficult to safeguard the freedom and well-being of everyone living on our continent.The aim of this project is to increase the capacity of youth workers to promote intercultural education as trainers and facilitators.It is addressed to 26 young people from all over Europe: Serbia (applicant and hosting organization), Kosovo, Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Croatia, Romania, Portugal, Italy, Iceland, UK, Turkey; that will go through a training course based on non-formal education and methods, with a strong practical approach making use of variety of methods from intercultural education, in order to develop skills as trainers and facilitators in ICL. It will take place in Serbia and last 9 days. The objectives are: To increase the knowledge level of young people in ICL topics (culture, identity, prejudices, stereotypes, discrimination, communication, etc); To develop skills as trainers in non-formal education focused on ICL topics and put them in practice with young people in Novi Sad; To empower youth workers to act as multipliers in ICL; To develop practical skills in intercultural education and “awareness making” in their own communities; To encourage participation and involvement of young people in social processes; To develop sense of common responsibility for the future of their local communities from a global perspective; To introduce Youth in Action as a great provider of educational opportunities for young people.
