Since the year 2010 we are teaching English on our school. We start teaching when the children are four years old en continue till twelve years. We use the method I-pockets for the children from four till eight years old. We use Our discovery Island for the children from nine till twelve. Our teachers need to improve their own teaching skills before they can teach the children. A good teacher makes for good education. The teachers use the mentioned methods for their teaching and make adaptions as needed. The teachers speak English during the English lessons all the time ('target language is enter language'). Purpose of the project is: to give us a wider range of teaching approaches and improve our foreign language competencies. The activities are:. 1. Teaching the 4 skills: listening, reading, writing en speaking 2. Creative activities for Young Learners 3. Classroom management skills 4. Chants, rhymes and songs, storytelling, drama and music. 5. Using communicative learning activities in Primary teaching contexts 6. Pronunciation work (through children's songs and rhymes) 7. Work on grammar and vocabulary 8. Language for the classroom 9. Building confidence in teaching in and through English, particularly drama activities. The course is practical: By doing activities designed for the Primary classroom, you will experience the methodology from the Young Learner's perspective. Results: To improve the teachingsskills and motivation. To continue our vvto Engels project and improve the English level of all our children. Long term Advantages: To improve the English level of all our children and to share our knowledge with our partners.
