TO Go International!
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The To Go International! (TOGI) project introduced the topic of the international cooperation, European dimension and project management with the aim to raise the awareness among participants about their personal capacities and the possibilities of international cooperation for their future. Target group and participants were young persons from small towns and rural areas having very little knowledge about these issues and lack the places where to turn to for more detailed information. That is why the main objectives of the project were to : 1. Provide the young persons through various methods of non-formal education theoretical and practical information about the possibilities of European integration 2. Provide the young persons the skills in connection with project management 3. Introduce and deepen the youth knowledge about EU citizenship 4. Improve and get better awareness among the youth about their personal capacities, their character and skills 5. Encourage young entrepreneurship 6. Improve the language skills of youth 7. To increase youth career opportunities on the job market The project was built on top of previous projects, especially youth exchanges realised by the applicant organisation IRR. There were four organisations taking part in the project. There were two activities carried out during the project, the Advance Planning Visit (APV) and the Youth exchange (YE). The two activities took place in Prague, Czech Republic. The APV took place in 15th-17th June 2015. It was attended by group leaders of the organisations along with one young person. The APV took 2 days and it served as a planning visit for the upcoming exchange. The YE took place from 2nd-10th September 2015 and it was attended by 22 people (4 youths per partner, 1 group leader per partner + 3 per coordinator). The exchange was focused practically with the aim to improve participants´ interpersonal and language skills and acquire new skills connected to project management and international cooperation as well as to get deeper knowledge about the European Union, EU citizenship and work opportunities in the EU. Methodology based mainly on practical tasks and active engagement of participants was used during the lifetime of the project and strong emphasis was put on the idea Youth for Youth. The majority of project coordinators, group leaders, and external experts invited to the project were young leaders who were willing to inspire participants, the future generation, particularly by showing to them opportunities for their future and by encouraging their entrepreneurship. The project had a direct impact on the participants, regarding the improvement and receipt of new skills and knowledge. This will lead to the long-term benefits in the target group and the society. The participants were non-formally educated in the area of international cooperation and now they are in a better position for entering the job market. The project has contributed to the creation of a new and educated young generation in Europe willing to participate in the idea of integration.
