PROJECT
FINISHED
The project has been developed under the strategic framework of the European Development Plan, Institutional Development Plan, ET2020 strategy and other national and European strategic documents. It aims to significantly contribute at the achievement of the objectives foreseen in the EDP.
The project has been developed by Gorce Petrov high-school from Prilep, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in collaboration with a technological high-school from Romania (Liceul Tehnologic Petricani) and an award-winning company with 19 years experience in fashion design and clothes production, also with experience in organizing student trainings - Sofiaman Impex;
The increase of attractiveness and quality of vocational education, the improvement of English, inter-cultural communication team working and employability skills are among the most important objectives of our project. The project also aims to equip the students with advance technical competencies such as using computer-assisted fashion design software such as Marvelous Designer and operate technologically advance machinery.
The target group will consist of 20 students (8 students from first and second year - profile textile technician, and 12 students from 3 and 4 year-profile garment technician).
Many our institution's students come from disadvantaged backgrounds (poor family, social problems). In many cases they are confronted to financial obstacles, as none of the family members is not employed or has a low level of qualification, working for a small income. Most of the students in the textile branch come from villages in the vicinity of Prilep municipality. In many cases most of the parents of the children work in agriculture.
The students will benefit from a 4 weeks placement (1 week in the technological high-school and 3 weeks in the partner company). They will be trained to use fashion design software and will be introduced to the different stages of the production process until they will be able to produce a final piece.
Preparation activities (linguistic - on the Online Linguistic Support and face-to-face, in English and Romanian language, intercultural, task related) have been foreseen.
For the project management, a team with clearly defined roles will be designated. We will also cooperate with the specialized persons in the host organization as they are willing to share their project management experience with us.
The project will have a significant impact on the participants (as they will be able to get integrated on the labor market, will be motivated, will have a better self-esteem), on our institution (as the quality and attractiveness of our services will be increased) and on local community (mentalities will be changed, specialized companies in the area will be supplied with highly specialized workforce). The project will also contribute to the achievement of the strategic objectives at national level and of the Erasmus+ Program.
