Recognising the difficulties faced by older people in the labour market, coupled with the reality of Europe's aging population and the need to attract/retain workers, the project will address vocational guidance needs among the older population. The project will collect, analyse and disseminate information with regard to the vocational guidance needs of older people and will further review the appropriateness of existing practice. Beyond this, a range of models and methodologies will be developed by project partners, with at least one methodological model tested in each partner country. The success of the selected models will be evaluated and the results disseminated to vocational guidance counsellors and social partners using, primarily, the project website alongside targeted e-mails, local meetings and international conferences. The project will result in new guidance models and methodologies able to support an ageing workforce. Results will be made available to guidance services, employers and trade unions via the project website, thus contributing to improving opportunities for older people considering entry to the labour market or considering improving their current position within the labour market.
