The young people of Europe in the local authority

The project foresees an international exchange, in the framework of which participants from Bulgaria and Turkey will be introduced to direct citizens participation of young people in the decision making process at local level. In accordance with the main priorities of the Youth in Action Programme this project proposal is aiming at the capacity enhancing in the organizations, working with youngsters and, in particular, to enrich their knowledge on the approaches applied for enhancing the youth at participation in the decision-making at local level. The project addresses to young people interested in youth policies topic. Applying informal education methods and simulation in real conditions, the participants involved, will enrich theirs knowledge on the practical forms of participation in local government, the activities of youth community councils and will discuss on the priorities of EU youth policy priorities. Aiming at the sustainability and popularization of the results, the project foresees meetings with representatives of local authorities and civic structures. The youth exchange will be realized from the Institute for European Initiatives team in the period of eight days in October, 2011. The venue is Sofia, Bulgaria, and with regard to the multicultural dialogue enhancement, special priority will be introducing to the most valuable cultural and historical sights of our capital.
