PROJECT
FINISHED
This project is part of a long term strategy to involve municipalities together with local associations in Kronoberg in Evs projects. The idea to connect the volunteer`s personal development with the promotion of EVS and youth mobility in the municipalities of Kronoberg has been in our plans for a long time. Together with host associations that have been receiving volunteers before, we want to connect also the municipalities of our region and young people of Europe by giving the volunteers the possibility to use their creativity and create actions in another country, that contribute for the development of localities.
So far we have been working actively with local associations, working as coordinating organisation for EVS projects. We think it s important to involve the municipalities also because they play an important role on the regions. By reaching the municipalities, more inhabitants become aware of the mobility possibilities for the young people in Europe and more politicians will see the importance of the youth european projects on the local level.
At the same time, in this project we have focus on youngsters with fewer opportunities, and for the first time, a short term project in cooperation with Växjö municipality. This initiative came because after many years working with EVS we’ve had having a dialogue with several partners that showed interest in sending volunteers for short projects to us. We’ve been in contact for several years now in order to get information about the needs of the volunteers and in which way we can organize the support in our organisation for these youngsters. And now we feel that it s the right time to host volunteers with specific difficulties.
With this project we want to bring perspectives on our work and the municipalities work, start new activities, add new methodologies and get a more international perspective in the local projects. At the same time, we want the volunteers to be able to use their creativity in Sweden, create real projects with their ideas, to get to know the Swedish society and the social issues we face and finally, we want to provide a creative, intercultural and open environment that gives space and inspiration to new projects.
