"The tast of culture" is a youth exchange among 5 EU and non-EU partner countries: Armenia, Lithuania, Romania, Cyprus and Latvia. The project will be held in Cyprus, Kyperounta city. Each country will represent 6 participants from different social-economical backgrounds between the ages 16-25 years old (1 team leader and 5 participants + 1 facilitater from Armenia and 1 from Cyprus) . The main theme of the project is the promotion of intercultural learning and culture mash-up, through culinary art and visits to the most important sites in Cyprus. Purpose of the project is to encourage tolerance, mutual understanding and share knowledge about significant places in Cyprus. During the project, youngsters from 5 countries with different social and cultural background will live and work together for 8 days. The working programme of the project includes sessions that will contribute to the development of solidarity and tolerance between young people towards each other , team-building, and acceptance of cultural differences and values, active participation of young people. During the project participants will visit historical monuments of our country and will take interesting photos of these places in order to gather all their photos and information about places of interest and post them in the blog created during the project. In addition, public events are envisaged, through which the participants will be able to interact with the local community and present their own culture, while at the same time they will experience the culture of Cyprus. The objectives of the project are; - To increase awareness among young people about other cultures.- To promote and facilitate the active use of program and structures in support of youth work on European Citizenship.- To empower youth to take an active role in their communities.- To bring together young people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.- To create space for inter cultural dialogue.- To foster their feeling of sharing common values.- To raise their sense of belonging to Europe.During the project participants will use non-formal education methods, this group of young people will have the great opportunity to cooperate, develop intercultural attitude, reflecting on their potential, acquiring news skills, learn and share ideas, become more creative and improve their personal and cultural experiences.
