The role of Young People in Poverty Reduction

With this 9-days Youth Exchange we wish to promote forms of social and economical development which would help to reduce poverty, hardship and vulnerability amongst people with fewer opportunities. In Shuto Orizari municipality, where host organization of the project is located, majority of the citizens are Roma. 70 % of them lives in poverty have no employment skills and awareness of solutions that might help to deal with reasons, which make them vulnerable. There are refugees, illiterate youth, unemployed, apathetic young people who never participated in some'youth event or decision making processes impacting youth. Youth Exchange.lssue of poverty and social exclusion will be explored through various non-formal learning methods and forum theatre. We will develop and share ideas, how young people could better promote importance of combating poverty in their own communities and realize initiatives and actions with positive impacts on their surroundings. Forum theatre is often used by socially excluded and disempowered groups as interactive form that encourages audience interaction and explores different options for dealing with a problem or issue, The Exchange will gather 30 young people from 6 countries (Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, "Netherlands, Italy and Lithuania and take place in Struga, Macedonia.
