Ever since the closure of the Swedish Paper School in Markaryd, SUM, in 2004 there has been practically no development of training material intended for vocational training at the non-university level. Existing training material for the pulp and paper industry, most of it in textbook form without electronic copies, was written in the 1990s. The technical development in the field has been rapid and the existing training material is thus very old-fashioned and heavily in need of an update. The main objective of this project was to create an ICT-based toolbox for competence development in the pulp and paper VET sector.
