DIMITRA Education & Consulting is one of the largest Adult Education Organizations with Training Centers in five (5) cities in Greece. Our organization is accredited for offering both Initial and Continuing VET courses and Consulting Services by the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP) and the Greek Ministry of Education while it has been distinguished for its excellence many times. Since 1989, DIMITRA has held extensive experience and unique competencies in producing innovative and participative tools and methodologies for Human Resources development in a constantly changing world of work. Through our activities such as training, research, innovation transfer and development of international collaborations we work towards the promotion of social inclusion, educational, cultural, scientific and economic growth.
DIMITRA is relying its business and educational expertise, on highly qualified and experienced staff. We are continuously on the look to find opportunities to develop the organisation through the development of our managers/trainers/personnel in order to improve our services and achieve the required by the current global trend modernisation. We could not think of a better way to achieve this, than a staff-training mobility project which will allow us to increase knowledge and experience in the field of social media and internationalization .
The implemented project consisted of development in two main areas:
1. Use of social media and internationalisation. 4 persons participated in a four-day course in Spain, which allowed them to expand their knowledge on the possibilities of social media and be able to take decisions and make actions that will lead the organisation to modernisation and internationalization.
2. European Dimension. Through participation in a course the participants gained in depth and advanced knowledge on the two European models, namely EQF and EQAVET, and learned more on how to align a curriculum with EQF and its quality standards with EQAVET. 3 persons participated in a four-day course in Cyprus.
The participants:
Coordinators and a department head participated in the first activity (Use of social media and internationalization). The participants gained competences and skills to interact with users of social media networks and implement appropriate actions to lead to the organization’s rapid internationalisation.
In the second activity (the European Dimension) both managers and trainers/coordinators attended the course on EQF and EQAVET. The European dimension should be reflected in the organisational culture, terminology used, and curricula of the providers. Therefore, people with different roles attended this activity.
DIMITRA selected the participating organisations after careful consideration. Each organisation brought particular expertise, and each was tasked with specific roles within the project.
The first activity was organized in cooperation with CEPS Projectes Socials which is a training organization, responsible for the management and implementation of socio-educational activities for adults and further training for professionals. It was selected as the host organization for the Social media mobility on the basis of the organisation’s experience and competence in putting in practice a strategic and social view of the use of technologies and social media.
The second activity was organized in cooperation with the Mediterranean Management Centre which has significant experience in the area of training and learning solutions and skills development. They hold expertise in delivering training programmes in European quality assurance systems such as EQF and EQAVET.
The selection of the participating organisations guaranteed not only the proper implementation of the entire project’s stages and objectives but also the more intensive and widespread sustainability of the project’s results.
As the main objective of this mobility project was the modernisation and internationalisation of DIMITRA, the fact that participants were able to participate in international courses, improved their ability to deliver international courses since they improved their cultural awareness and they developed an open attitude towards diversity of cultural expression. All participants achieved competences independently of the course they participated in such as cultural awareness, development of open attitude etc. Additionally, they improved their knowledge on different training tools and techniques as well as their training skills through observation.
Lastly, through the development of our personnel, DIMITRA was able not only to reach its goals for internationalisation and modernization, but also to have other benefits such as networking with other organisations in the sector.
