"The Creative Impetus" is a job shadowing project for 2 youth workers from Slovenia who are coming for 10 days at Asociacion Cultural Madre Tierra in Churriana Malaga (Spain). The project aims to exchange experience, acquire new skills, gain useful knowledge and also develop a partnership. Asociacion Cultural Madre Tierra (Churriana Malaga, Spain) and Intitut Padma (Ljubljana, Slovenia) have much in common. Both organizations are non profit, both have mainly young volunteers and both have vast experience with personal growth and development education. Their aim is to professionalise their work and to increase their motivation for activities in youth working area, which would help them in training unemployed young people and involve them in the projects dealing with soft skills development.
Impetus coming from latin means something that impels, a stimulating factor. We would like this project to be creative impulse for starting new activities locally in Spain and Slovenia and for new European projects among both organisations and also with other partners from Europe. We would like to start an international partnership, learn from each other how each institution organizes and carries out their work with young people and also to exchange good practice experiences.
Job shadowing activities will take place in Churriana Malaga at the office of Asociacion Cultural Madre Tierra, where Mr. Matej Poljanšek and Mr. Matej Guštin will learn about our good practices with youth, and will shadow Spain youth workers in action and share Slovenian experience with Spain colleagues.
During these 10 days of job shadowing, participants will discuss the issues of youth volunteering, professionalisation and recognition of youth work, European certificates (Youthpass, Europass CV), social entrepreneurship, intercultural learning, intergenerational cooperation and healthy living, with intent to learn to promote and encourage compassion, solidarity, and of course active and healthy attitude towards modern challenges of youth. Participants will share their knowledge, expertise and insights to these topics and try to find solutions for youth engagement in modern everyday challenges.
After the job shadowing activity, the Slovenian youth workers will present their experience to the members of their organisation and to the local youth workers on open public presentation held in their premises in Intitut Padma in Ljubljana.
