The Challenge training course for youth workers/leaders will have 9 partners, 27 participants, 2 trainers and one staff coming from Malta, Turkey, Romania, Spain , Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Portugal and will be held in Malta between the 22-28 September 2014.
The Challenge training course will give the participants the opportunity to experience sports and outdoor activities first hand in the 5 day programme. This will help them to connect more with the methods being used and also understand better how they can use them as educational tools with the young people that they work with. There will be a focus on safety, creativity, personal and group support, team-building, leadership and follow-up sessions. The training course will offer activities such as camping, canoeing, High ropes, raft building, kite building, trekking, cook outs and similar activities. All the sessions will be followed by debriefing sessions. Different debriefing techniques will be used (pictorial, verbal, non-verbal) to highlight the importance of the evaluation/reflection process and how educators can use this to maximise the learning of young people they work with.
