The Added Value of Human Performance Technology for Lifelong Learning – Added Value of HPT

The goal of the project is to create a European-wide network of professionals working in Human Resources Development and Management, Quality Management, Organisational Development and VET in order to attain proficiency in using Human Performance Technology (HPT). HPT is defined as a comprehensive set of tools and methodologies which support the achievement of results through the management of people and processes. It is a systematic approach for improving performance in the workplace, and therefore a key to competitiveness for European organisations and institutions. From a training point of view, a performance-based approach to lifelong learning can assist both individuals and companies (including SMEs) to improve the effects of training. The project will establish a network to facilitate the exchange of experience and examples of good practice with regard to HPT in Europe and will further establish and maintain a knowledge system for those working with HPT. Beyond this, a range of events will be held to bring together those working in the field of performance-based training and to support pilot actions in companies based upon a performance-based approach to Human Resources Development (HRD). The results of the project will be disseminated to HRD professionals and other prfessional sinvolved in preformance improvement in companies and within VET, for which use will be made of existing partner networks.
