Conference consists of three main activities – teambuilding, where the participants of the committee get to know each other and learn to work together; committee work, where the specific topic is discussed, new and creative solutions found for the resolution; General Assembly, where committees defend their resolutions, debate and suggest amendments. Necessity of project implementation.LNC’16 is built to enable young people to master the skill to cooperate with other youngsters, including those from different cultures, discuss and express opinions on the topical issues of EU, thus encouraging tolerance and improving English skills. The necessity to ensure sustainability and development of European Youth Parliament is invaluable and by realizing LNC’16 not only new people would get involved but also the knowledge would be passed down to provide succession. Conference is for students from 9th to 12th grade or 1st to 3rd course of professional educational institution, aged 16-19. Aims of the project:• Participants of LNC’16 are given valuable experience and knowledge which they take advantage of daily, in studies, career etc.;• Participants of LNC’16 have established a new perspective regarding education acquisition and personality development;• Delegates of LNC’16 continue taking part in EYP and ‘’Tellus’’ events as well as become more civilly active;• Latvian delegations sent to other international EYP event are well prepared and inquisitive;• EYP becomes more recognizable in educational institutions in Latvia and school managements are willing to cooperate with ‘’Tellus’’;• ‘’Tellus’’ become more recognizable amongst youth, their parents and teachers as a trustworthy organization which fosters environment for career growth;• LNC’16 helps ‘’Tellus’’ and EYP reach their goals.Participant profile.Selected Latvian delegates – 75 secondary school students selected from three EYP Latvia regional sessions (main criteria: enthusiasm, knowledge, social skills).Selected Latvian delegates by applications – 30 secondary school students selected after open-call.International delegates – 12 youngsters selected from other EYP National conferences.President – the head of chairpersons, guide of the conference theme. Does not chair a committee. Participants with the most experience and authority.Vice-presidents – two helpers of the president. They and the president combined shape the conference board. Vice-president lead a committee as well.Chairpersons – 14 participants leading a committee for the whole conference. Each committee is lead by two chairpersons. Exactly half of the team are Latvians.Editors – 1-2 participants who lead the media team. They shape and develop the theme of the conference. Journalists and video-editors – 9-10 participants creating the content of conference newspapers and other materials. The contend will be rather academic and driven towards the session theme ‘Widening boarders – bringing peace together’. About half of the team will be Latvians.Jury – participants observing and evaluating the work of each delegate during committee work and General Assembly. They will choose the delegates to represent Latvia in international and other sessions abroad. Organisers – 13 participants, including Head Organisers. They provide with entire organizational part of the conference – wellbeing of participants, acquiring finances, venues, catering, accommodation, materials, printing, logistics etc. All of them are Latvians. Influence and sustainability of the project. After having participated in LNC’16, youngsters will become more active European citizens as they’ve penetrated different topical issues of the society and cape up with solutions which can be adopted not only by the state and EU institutions but also youngsters themselves. Debates with decision makers will be held after LNC’16 where the ideas of the youngsters will be listened to, evaluated and commented on by professionals of the particular field. As this is an open event – ideas of youngsters might be heard in the society too.
