"That's the Po1nt - information and counselling in practise" is an Erasmus+ funded project and it is executed by Savonlinnan Seudun Nuorisotoiminnan Tuki ry together with the regional Po1nt network. The project is a study visit between youth workers/youth infomation workers and other professionals within the field of youth information and counselling. The project will be executed with four project partners which are: De Ambrassade from Belgium, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ from Malta, Info Zona from Croatia and Savonlinnan Seudun Nuorisotoiminnan Tuki ry/regional Po1nt network. Po1nt network is a network of 17 municipalities in Savo region and its main aim is to provide youth information and counselling for the youth in Savo region. The study visit aims to find new ways and methods to reach the young people both in the cities and in rural areas. It also aims to find ways to meet the needs of various target groups. As the youth between 10 to 18 years is a group of individuals facing various challenges and questions about personal life, relationships, education among other things, the youth information workers and youth workers are demanded for flexibility and professionality. Throughout the study visit the participants are gaining information on what kind of expertise is needed from youth information officers/workers and youth workers. These bit and pieces are then collected to get an overview about the current situation. The study visit is devided into two parts; during the first part local top services are introduced for international partners and for a smaller amount of Finnish youth workers. The first part is aiming to see both face-to-face as well as online work and their relation in daily work. The visits to local services serve as a starting point for discussions and reflections on the current status of youth information and counselling. The second part of the study visit focuses in online youth information work and its best practises in every participating organisation. The second part is a Po1nt seminar which is open for the municipalities in Po1nt network. The partner organisations participate in the seminar program by running workshops under the theme "online youth information and counselling". Study visit gives for the youth workers/youth information workers knowledge and perspective about social media, online youth information work and its relation to face to face work. The results of the study visit are mostly internal and are used in organisations' development work. Undirectly the study visit inspires youth workers to execute international projects with young people as youth workers first get their own positive experience.
