PROJECT
FINISHED
Environmental issues have developed considerably over the past few years; in-depth studies on the safeguarding of the natural environment are accompanied by a growing interest towards a well-balanced and rational management of resources for production purposes. In this regard, the field of environmental technologies has registered considerable developments, both qualitatively and quantitatively, in several ways related to the awareness that environmental protection and enhancement issues can be tackled with an effective use of the results of the research and experimenting carried out so far. Specifically, the project stems from the need to train a technical-scientific professional prepared to deal with ecological, technical, social and legislative matters related to territorial management and available environmental resources. The professional thus trained is able to collect and analyse all the information and data on territorial and environmental characteristics; to manage non-homogeneous and diachronic cartography; to process, based on multi-varied statistical methods, the data connected to the territory and satellite images; he/she further possesses the technical and scientific knowledge that is relevant in the management of existing physical resources (water, agriculture, forests, soil, light, renewable energy) and is able to use knowledge on the ecosystem and its resources to draft concrete environmental policies, aimed at a sustainable management of the territory. At the end of their training, these professionals can be employed in a number of roles in the labour market: officials in public bodies and institutions, freelancers, technical experts on the supply of public territorial services, experts on the management of environmental and territorial resources and EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment).
