Table Tennis Crossing Borders is a project lead by applicant STK Marathon and partner organizations NTK Preserje, SV Schott Jena e.V and STK CM Vitez. The main goal of the project is to directly and effectively tackle issues connected to physical inactivity by promoting the values of sport and an active lifestyle. The specific objectives of the project are: engaging children of different ages and groups in a fun and inclusive way while promoting the sport of table tennis through dedicated activities, collecting useful information that can serve as a base for forming guidelines and disseminating the collected information to educational organisations and policy forming institutions.Children and young people are our main target audience for the activities but we hope to engage a wide public as well, starting with the parents of our participants since they have a key role in educating their children to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.Table tennis is a sport that can bring much to the table when tackling the issues that are a priority in this project. Additionally, it’s a sport that can be easily integrated in schools, homes and sport clubs both for active playing and recreational-social activities. We believe that the proposal is innovative in 4 main aspects: engaging schools in a fun, interactive way throught activity “Month of Table Tennis”, technical approach because all activities include both physical, fun and interactive way of ensuring the fulfillment of project’s objectives, in our target group because we plan to include parents as active participants since they have a key role in educating their children to have a healthy lifestyle and dissemination thorough creating a Forum on projects website so that participants and interested youth can discuss issues, plan events and keep in touch after the project ends.
