PROJECT
FINISHED
The main aim of TINIS is to promote the development of structures which enhance technological innovation in the ICT sector in order to improve regional competitivity. This will be achieved by creating new methods for improving innovation as well as improving existing ones and through the enhancement of ICT networking within the partner regions. Achievements: Achievements so far The main objective of the TINIS Project is to improve the regional development through enhancement of the innovation in the ICT sector. The two main action areas of the project are the Innovation Methods in ICT sector and the Cluster creation and development in the ICT sector. The TINIS Project has started in April 2005 and is supported by 6 partners from 5 countries : Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Luxembourg and Slovenia. Since the beginning of the project, partners have met 9 times : Kick-off Meeting (Be, April 2005), WS1 (Cz, June 2005), WS2 (Lu, September 2006), WS3 & ST1 (Gr, March 2006), WS4 & ST2 (Be, June 2006), WS5 & ST3 (Sl, November 2006) and WS6 & ST4 (Be, March 2007), WS 7 (Gr, September 2007), Final Meeting + ST 5 (Be, November 2007). During these meetings, partners have exchanged on the project and also visit some innovative ICT structures. Concerning Component 'Innovation Methods', partners have compiled information on all possible helps to promote innovation in their own region (Cat. 1), they have established a list of innovative methods used to promote innovation (Cat. 2), they selected main chosen innovative methods that partners want to implement (Catalogue 3) an implemented methods to support innovation for ICT companies and actors. These exchange of experiences enable to publish the Innovative Methods Best Practices - Implementation Manual (Catalogue 4). The description of the implementation and the possible regional adaptations of six Innovation Methods compose the Final Book 1. These implementations were new experiences for the TINIS Partners and brought some new tools and information for the regional ICT development. Concerning Component 'Cluster', a presentation of ICT networks existing in the different regions has been made by partners (Catalogue 5). Partners have also worked on grid to realize a sociological approach of ICT clusters (Cat.6) and on Structuring Methods to create , support and manage ICT networks (Cat. 7). The Final Book 2 presents to situation and the evolution of the situation of clusters and present 7 Structuring Methods to create or develop ICT Networks. In the framework of TINIS Project, 4 ICT Networks were created: 'Ruby on Rails' centered on the Ruby technology (Cz); a technology club, composed of Walloon heads of sectors and strengthened (Be); an informal network based on the regional ICT know-how (Gr); and the 'YaJuG' which gathers people on Java technology (Lux). These clusters bring together ICT companies and ICT actors, and have also the aim to grow up these networks and become actors of the innovation. On a communicational point of view, 5 press conferences have taken place and a general presentation leaflet was created and diffused. The website of the project is online since the beginning of the project (www.tinis-project.net). It contains all relevant information concerning partners, TINIS Project and projects publications.
