PROJECT
FINISHED
Danish Esperanto Association is a national organisation, active in organising and holding intercultural events and language courses and seminars, and whose work is based on volunteers' efforts. Although their work is extremely valuable, the activities often lack proper methodological didactical approaches and quality analysis is often not addressed. Teaching can be the best experience also and mainly in terms of personal development, but only if certain quality standards are met.
This project, which will last two years, therefore aims to address ways to improve teaching activities and to contribute to a better personal development of the teachers/trainers involved; through sharing and professionalisation, the involved organisations will share best practices in a positive, constructive and European dimension.
The organisation planned to send nine of its teachers/trainers to four different courses/training seminars, in order to improve their teaching and didactic skills: three of them will be held in Germany, at Herzberg-am-Harz, hosted by the Intercultural Centre of Herzberg and supervised by the International League of the Esperanto Teachers and one will be held in Belgium. At each course/seminar, all the participants will share their experience and key experts will be invited for specific seminars, which will provide a common set of skills for language teachers; innovative practices and methodologies will be developed during the whole staff training activities carried out abroad, with a particular focus on the application of ICT to language teaching.
The participants involved in the project activities will benefit of the gained experience according to a different levels and dimensions. Here below are indicated the main areas of skill improvement: identification of the strong and of the weak skill areas; strenghtening of the weak skills areas; acquisition of new skills and abilities in the teaching fields; improving of the didactic and methodological approach, in a perspective of the most effective and adaptive application of the acquired and strengthened knowledges; development of innovative didactic methodological approaches, mainly through the application of ICT to the teaching field; building of an effective networking with representatives of other organisations, in order to build a international and sustainable cooperation in an European dimension.
The project will be carried out with an effective and strong management, and applying a constant monitoring and evaluation of the project progress, and with a constant attention for for the personal development of the teachers/trainers involved.
Effective strategies of dissemination at national and internarional level and valorisation of results will maximise the impact of the project on the participant, both on the sending organisation and on the receiving organisations; furthermore, the project results will have a strong impact also at international level, as the participant will come in contact with other similar organisations sharing their same needs in terms of training and exchange of good practices. This will guarantee a sustainability of the project in the future, beyond the project lifespan.
