Our project "Теaching and learning in the Finnish Education System" aims to follow the programme of the course completely. That includes the following main ideas:1. Improving standards in education at European level2. Improving the quality of teaching and studying and learning and understanding of Finnish educational system3. Improving competences, using participants' own experience; sharing good practice4. Improving leadership skills and the opportunity to work in teams to develop a plan for modernization of school life and organizational models upon teachers' arrival home. Our aims are related to improving teachers' methodology, creating more interesting and motivating lessons, school curriculum and extra curriculum activities and clubs, grouping children according to their interests. We would like to transform our school into a nice, modern and desirable place for both students and teachers. We would be grateful to our Finnish colleagues if we can steal some ideas how to include kids in organizing school life, which we believe, will educate them in a spirit of organization, responsibility, team work skills and achieving their aims and tasks together. We will also try to integrate Finnish methods in our problem areas - early school leaving and working with problem children. In order to achieve our goals we have chosen our language teacher, the only one in our school, who is a great teacher, educator and methodologist, form teacher , organizer of all out-of-the-classroom events and an assistant in developing school programmes and curricula. Our project includes a full week course in the town of Joensuu, Finland and sending our English teacher there we know that she has the potential and the ability to follow the course structure strictly, to use her professional experience at its maximum and to get knowledge from the possibility to visit local school establishments and cultural trips. We expect extraordinary results upon her arrival home, which are related to changing the organization of our school life, creating a really motivating school curriculum, extra curriculum clubs where students can be grouped according to their interests, innovation and creativity in both teaching and learning, and last but not least, enriching our knowledge about the function of the Finnish educational system at all levels and structures and ideas how to implement their model successfully in Bulgaria. The benefits of the chosen course will reverberate after its end for a long time. Our teacher will have worked out even more stable methodology of teaching , which includes the use of interactivity and contemporary skills. We will try to help our colleagues and show them how to change their old-fashioned methodology, giving them materials and free online resources , and our attendee's assistance. We will try to build up an adequate to all European models school life, which includes modern curriculum, creativity, engaging students to school organizational process , team work , learning desire and better work in our problem areas. We believe that doing this project and getting knowledge from this mobility, we will be able to modernize our educational process and try to influence on many other colleagues, educational institutions , schools and even the Ministry of Education and Science, providing them information about our results and knowledge.
