1. Context/background of project TACTICS connects practice and school - education by professional practice for students and training, language, and methodology course for teachers. It is organized by Obchodná akadémia, Kukučínova 2 Trnava in cooperation with ADC College – professional training centre in London. It is financed from Erasmus+ fund under the KA1 action: Mobility of learners and staff mobility – VET learner and staff mobility. The project focuses on: - Improving students´ learning with effective mandatory practice during study and to enhance and sustain language learner motivation and employment benefits - The qualification of VET teachers in the vocational education and training to teacher vocational subjects in English language - Promotes and support lifelong learning and learner mobility - Improving the quality of education for vocational subjects 2. Objectives of your project - Provide students with professional practice in a foreign country to develop and improve their competencies, skills, a level of English language, and the use of knowledge on the labour market with the intend to increase their employability after graduation - Provide teachers with training, language and methodology CLIL course to learn new CLIL methods and trigger their competences, skills as well as to increase their level of English language with the aim to improve education, curriculum and the graduate´s profile. - Increase a wide range of resources, including interactive techniques - Build an study environment of confidence, resilience and success for students - Employers’ and industries’ perceptions of the quality and effectiveness of education and training and the competence of graduates 3. Number and profile of participants Target group consists of : - 30 students studying at 3rd and 4th year of bilingual and general studies at Obchodná akadémia Kukučínova 2 in Trnava. - 6 teachers teaching at bilingual section 4. Description of activities 4.1. The project focuses on the main activities as such: 4.1.1. 2 – week practice for students in companies in London 4.1.2. 2 – week stay/course for teachers 4.2. Other activities that are supporting the main ones: - Project seminar for everyone from school to bring up to date about the project - Interview for candidates interested in practice - Info seminar for short-listed candidates - PJKP course for students - Evaluation seminar for all participants and the project team to analyze the project´s aims and needs, and prepare new strategy for new projects 5. Methodology to be used in carrying out the project 5.1. Initiation - Project case (SWOT analyse of school) - Scope and deliverables (certificates, CLIL methodology, questionnaires, final reports) - Objectives (main activities of the project: vocational practice and training course) - Recourses needed (personnel, finance, capital) - Milestone plan and timeline ( date of practice for 2 groups of students and training courses for 6 teachers) - Cost estimate, Risk and issues 5.2. Planning and Design - Developing the schedule (Gantt chart) for the supporting activities - Developing the budget - Selecting the team members and creating their work plan - Communication planning with hosting organization, participants of the project and other people involved in the project 5.3. Execution - Logistics and organization strategy of departure - Communication with responsible people for the main activity at the both sides of the project - Costs 5.4. Monitoring and controlling - Measuring the ongoing project activities 5.5. Closing - Certification - Analyse of outcomes (questionnaires, final report, anonymous survey) - Dissemination strategies of the project 6. A short description of the results and impact envisaged Envisaged results of the project: - Obtained certificates: the practice the CLIL course - Satisfaction questionnaire for the participants to learn about the practice and course - Handouts and study materials with the use of CLIL methods to adopt them in the subject curriculum for the new school year 2015/2016 - Supporting materials for obtaining credits in school system to increase teachers’ qualification Envisaged impact of the project: - Develop skills, improve competences for practice and increase a level of English language - Increase intercultural sensitivity - Build strong partnership among the participants and organizations - Increase the use of CLIL methods in education, curriculum of vocational subjects taught in English language with the aim to enhance the graduate´s profile - Improve the communication among professionals and public to inform them about the project 7. The potential longer term benefits - Education which reflects current trends and employees´ requirements on the labour market - School position on the international level by organizing international projects - Modernised methods in education and support students and teachers´ mobility - School networks - Education by active studying
