Our project is named ‘Thearchers are the First Step to Prevent Violence and Child Abuse (TPV)’ and it’s prepared by Cumhuriyet Elementary School teachers. It is designed as a 12 month project. There is one overseas activity in the project. The subject overseas activity is an in-service training activity called 'Prevention of violence and child abuse. How can teachers help?' which will be held in Slovenia. This activity will be held by an establishment called Skupina Primera in Slovenia. The preparation of this project sparked from the idea of looking after the kids that are subject to violence and abuse in our society from the thought “Today’s youth is tomorrow’s adults”. Children abuse is one of the biggest problems of humanity in this world. In this direction, our general and private goals are listed below:General goals:• When it is thought that the ones who are abused in their childhood can be abused in the future, this course aims to prevent domestic abuse to pass from one generation to another. Children who witness domestic violence in their households grow up to be potential abusers. With the thought process that uneducated families are in a risk group, our aim is to have the teachers take this course to give education to abusive families to prevent the current existing abuse and prevent the abuse that can occur in the future.• Reducing peer bullying indirectly with this course,• Spreading the course at other primary schools.Private goals:• Improving foreign language sufficiency,• Increasing cooperation with European countries,• Improving teachers’ professional competency,• Getting to know different cultures and values,• Emphasizing Active European Citizenship,• Observing intercultural dialogue and empathy on site, spreading the experience and impressions that we gathered about the topic,• If there is a bias about us or our culture, to break this judgement, even if it’s a small improvement,• To increase the interest of the participants towards modern foreign languages. There will be 10 participants during the project activities. The participants will be selected by interviews 2 months before the planned project activities. Special attention will be given to make sure that the participants are selected from ambitious, hardworking individuals who may have visited Europe before and have studies related to the topic. With the help of activities and perceived knowledge through this project we aim to;*Solve problems about violence and abuse towards children in our establishment,*Be equipped with the knowledge to inform families about the topic of the project,*Developing effective project preparation techniques,*Perceive the theme of intercultural dialog and empathy,*To create an awareness about Active European Citizenship,*To increase the positive relations between Turkey and Europe,*Improve effective communication and problem solving skills.
