Teacher Refresher Course

The idea of the project was the need to improve teaching skills of our teachers, but also language skills of our students. The course that we have chosen answers our expactations, it allows the teacher to improve his teaching skills, he will know new methods of teaching and motivating, next he will present these methods to the rest of our teachers. We will start using innovative teaching methods connected with music, songs, literature. He will familiarize with methods of working with students with difficulties and specific educational needs, controling the classroom and working with misbehaving students. We want to involve our students and their parents in our school activity, by participating in compulsory classes and extra classes whose attractiveness will rise, and also in multinational project. We hope that during the course the teacher will establish contacts with other European schools in order to begin cooperation in future Erasmus+ or e-Twinning projects. We need to improve the commitment of our teachers in more school activities, and to improve the renown of our school in local environment. Goals of the project: - improving teachers' qualifications, - improving students' language skills, - increasing students' motivation, - increasing teachers' motivation, - increasing the renown of the school, - analysis and correction of syllabus, making the knowledge more available to students, - starting international cooperation with other schools. Jakub Drapała, our English teacher will be the participant of the course. He is an experienced appointed teacher, he has been working as a teacher for 9 years, in our school for 6 years. He in an author of innovative curriculum realised during English classes. He also participates in many educational projects, organises extra classes and individual consultations for students. In the last five years he participated in many courses organised by KPCEN Włocławek, CDiE Włocławek., KPCEN Toruń, he is also an examiner of lowre-secondary school final English exams. Jakub Drapała fulfills his duties very well, he is hard-working, systematic and aware of importance and significance of his work. First thing we did together with other English teachers was the analysis of our needs as a school. On this basis we have chosen this course. Next we booked the course and determined the accomodation and board. Then we started filling the Erasmus+ form. Meanwhile the teacher meant to participate in the course started to read literature connected with the course and get to know the culture and history oh Great Britain. During the course he will take part in 50 hours of classes, getting to know new teaching methods and methods of working with students with difficulties, talented students and motivating them. During the course he will start international cooperation with other schools. He will make notes, amass educational materials and methodological publications. After his return he will present the information, knowledge and materials he gathered to all of the teachers of our school during staff meetings, English teachers meetings and lessons observed by other teachers in school year 2014/2015. Presented skills and knowledge will increase the level of teaching English and teachers and students' motivation. After the end of the school year 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 the questionnaire (about the level of education and students' results) for students and their parents will be held and analysed. The analysis will be presented during the teachers' meeting. Expected results of the project: improving teachers' qualifications by learning new methods, improving students' language skills - reading, listening, speaking and writing, increasing students' motivation to learning and participating in classes and extra classes, creating of a class taught using innovative methods, increasing teachers' motivation, increasing the renown of the school and the number of students, analysis and correction of syllabus, making the knowledge more available to students, starting international cooperation with other schools, increasing cooperation with parents in order to develope the school and realisation of international projects Erasmus+, e-Twinning.
