The application is in the name of a teacher who has been teaching at Gymnasium Traben-Trarbach for more than 10 years. After her parental leave, she only had very few English lessons in lower grade as the need for French teachers was very high. As she is expected to take over the reinforced course in English next year, which will have a boy in it who is growing up in a family consisting of two native speakers, she wants to be given the opportunity to speak the target language amongst native speakers over a longer period of time and thereby to adequately prepare herself for taking over that course. However, the participant is not the only one to benefit from the outcome of that teacher training, but she is to disseminate it to the English department and regional networks. The future etwinning-project and the student exchange programme with an English school which is currently in the making, are also going to benefit from an extended knowledge of idiomatic and colloquial language. The teacher training is supposed to improve the quality of English lessons (linguistics, civilization, methodology) and therefore, pupils are also going to benefit from this training.
