PROJECT
FINISHED
Talnet international is a project devoted to young people interested in natural sciences. The tradition of the project lasts already a few years and we would like to keep it alive. This year we would like to deal with genetics and related ethics. Genetics is a science, which has been going under great development recently. The basic knowledge of genetic is getting to be very useful even for "normal" people. Participants in our project will have an opportunity to understand the mean of genetics, its hopes and problems which we can expect in future. The unique feature of our project is long-term cooperation of 3 partner organisations from different countries but the same interest in natural sciences with a bit different points of view.
The project will start with online part - online discussions, where all the participants firstly meet the key questions of our project. Then the face-to-face meeting will take place in the Czech Republic, in Prague and West Bohemia. The students will use the gained knwledge when making a short video with their team. The opportunity to work in an international team brings everyone many profits from knowledge of genetics through arts of communication, interpretation of thoughts in foreign language, teams work to ability to use modern free tools on the internet.
The headstone od our activity is the team project with a targeto to make a few short videos about Gene-Ethics problems. The topics of the videos will be discusse in the online part, but they will be divided into teams (altogether with dividing participants into teams) in the beginning of the exchange. The peak of our activity will be public presentation of created movies in the end of the project in Prague. We will also visit expert institute and experts will visit our group during the activities. Our goal is to to teach facts, but to stimulate thinking of our young people in the right way. We would also like to integrate a public discussion with parents of genetically disabled child and thus spread the thought of our project among not involved people.
In our activities we will use methods of non-formal education, the programme will be adapted to the fact that we work with people who didn't know each other before. We will integrate methods of peer learning, moderated discussions, team competitions and team activities (which mean the team work will be the essential element).
