The TALAS project will pilot and introduce a new methodology which will promote new practical approaches in VET policy, specifically aimed at the teaching of management skills in the field of tourism. The project will rely upon the use of ICT and as such will build upon a methodology already tested during a previously fundedLeonardo da Vinci project (Visually Interacting e-Learning Platform). The existing platform will be updated with a range of new functions (mobile learning, I-mode and multicast diffusion) to then host an innovative e-Learning course able to take learners needs into account and using new learner-centred methodologies. The end results of the project will comprise an innovative training and technological model; a series of multilingual video lessons and the results from the projects experimentation with mobile learning. Project beneficiaries include students and existing employees (working in the tourism sector) wishing to improve upon existing skills & competencies. Project dissemination is divided into an event strategy (workshops & seminars), an Internet strategy (newsletters, powerpoint presentations), a paper strategy (brochures, posters, reports) and a media strategy (video lessons, CD-Rom).
