PROJECT
FINISHED
This project is result of the good work and cooperation between the three partner organizations. It is written to meet the needs of young people from minority groups, in socially disadvantaged situation and geographically limitted one, to help them understand better the social structures, to present to them different opportunities, to build in them self-confidence and to motivate them to study. Another part of the project meets the needs of young people without fewer opportunities. It gives them a chance to see a reality different from their own, to attract their attention to serious social problems, to provide them with possible solutions and to motivate them to work on those issues. Overall the project will affect young people from different backgrounds and social levels, introducing them to one another and growing in them tolerance, understanding and compassion towards people from different race, gender and age. The participants will visit social centers and they will see how they are structured and how they work. For the Bulgarian participants who themselves are part of such institution this will be a great opportunity to compare both structures and to get new ideas how they can improve their situation. For all of the participants, the project will give another perspective of well-known problems and we hope that it will motivate them to act to solve them. The effect of a yoith exchange will be that a group of socially disadvantaged youngsters will expand their social awareness and cultural knowledge and the three organisations will develop their organzational skills. The empowered by EVS volunteer Denitsa Hristova will be more deeply involved in implementing Erasmus projects together with the team of BalkanKids and other partner organizations. The target group of the project will be young people between 15-20 years. Some of them come from troubled families, some of them are orphans, some live in an ill environment. We tried to engage as many socially disadvantge children as possible, because being in their possition limits many opportunities and through this project they can go out of the limits and get even chances for education and work. We will use variety of non-formal educational methods such as workshops, discussions, energizres, games, etc. to fulfill the planned activities and to reach the project's goals. The methods are carefully selected by our trained leaders and coordinators. We chose methods that will be fun, interesting and useful to the participants, engaging their creativity, critical thinking and self-initiative.With this project we hope to achive great impact on the youngsters minds and to show them that the world can really be a better place if we work on it together.
