The “Taiwan-Europe Cultural Exchange and Community Service Scholarship Project” is a task-based innovation activity with a comprehensive series of spread content activities. This project intends to offer an opportunity for European students, Taiwanese students and international students at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) in Taiwan to spread content of the European Union (EU) and her member states to the young teenagers of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. This project will last for 24 months and it will include (1) teaching EU at local elementary, junior high and high schools at Kaohsiung City during two fall semesters and two spring semesters, and (2) nation-wide EU Alumni gatherings during two winter vacations, and (3) nation-wide EU summer school and its follow-up community carnivals during two summer vacations. This project will involve the selection and training of European, Taiwanese and international students from NSYSU. The organizer, the European Union Centre at NSYSU, is well experienced in holding activities mentioned above. We can make sure that the qualified candidates will be well-trained in photography, journalism, and teaching skills before they share information about the European Union and one of its member states with the teenagers.The “Taiwan-Europe Cultural Exchange and Community Service Scholarship Project” is initiated with a hope to expand the international outlook of Taiwanese teenagers (10 to 18-year-old) and enhance their understanding of the European Union and each member country through vivid and interesting courses in the European Union and European culture. NSYSU has 49 partner universities from 16 countries in Europe. And each year, in average 100 European exchange students visit NSYSU at Kaohsiung. It is expected that after 24-month execution period, a total of 5300 young students from 52 schools will benefit from this project. 2. At least 600 participants will join EU alumni gatherings, summer schools.
