"Tabula Rasa" international youth exchange will gather 36 participants from 7 countries in August 2013 in Ukraine to fill in tabula rasa (blank unscribed board or sheet) with new ideas and new vision for international youth and volunteer work of Service Civil International network (SCI).The project aims to bring together activists from different parts of Europe, with different level of experience, in order to discuss, exchange and develop new ideas on local and international volunteer work on the topics of peace, intercultural dialogue, combating racism and xenophobia, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and lifestyle, active citizenship; as well as types, forms and methods of international youth /volunteer work. The blank board will be filled with discussions and presentations on volunteering and project topics, small working groups to develop new ideas or try out some interactive or creative methods or exercises, practical sessions where participants could present certain methods of work (games or activities), do crafts together or sports/yoga, have photography or design workshops to work on materials related to volunteering, exchange recipes and cook something together, have theater/drama workshops, brainstorm sessions to develop new future projects. Open and diverse program with parallel activities will provide space for contribution and active involvement of all participants. The project will result in increased skills and competencies of participants, improved international communication and cooperation, and grass-root ideas for new international projects and activities in the framework of Youth in Action programme as well as Tabula rasa creative visual materials for promotion of YiA programme and international volunteering.
