The promoter of the project "Polishing professional and social competencies in European environment" is Zespół Szkół Ekonomicznych im. Jana Pawła II w Staszowie (The John Paul II Complex of Schools of Economics in Staszow), and the project partner is Sistema Turismo s.r.l., Potenza, Italy. The project involves the participation of 50 students of technical secondary school and 10 students of basic vocational school in foreign placements in Italian Rimini in two group installments: from 6 to 31 March 2017 the first group and from May 8 to June 1, 2017 the second group. The project partner organizes internships in Italian companies according to the profile of student learning in the following industries: hotel management, catering, logistics, computer services, business and office administration, and in the case of basic vocational school: in confectioneries, hairdressing salons, shops and restaurants.Students will be accompanied by two teachers from the school who will provide assistance and safety when traveling and staying in Rimini. Sistema Turismo will assign a tutor to the groups, who will not only support the participants meritorically and organisationally but also he/she will serve the assistance in case of necessity 24 hours a day. The project meets the needs of our school in terms of organization of work experience, the completion of which is an obligatory requirement of promotion to class IV in technical school and is a partial fulfillment of the requirements of professional practice in basic vocational school. The mobility project will allow the school to implement the assumptions of its European Development Plan, such as breaking language barriers, adapting the standards of Polish education to European standards, developing and shaping transversal competencies and employing information and communication technology. The implementation of the project will help the school adjust to the demands of the European labor market and will support the school's efforts in: creating a planned development at a European level, strengthening the students' motivation to learn foreign languages and making best possible use of new technologies in the process of education. From the students’ point of view the project implementation is an opportunity for overcoming cultural and language barriers, and also for gaining new, practical experience in their field of learning. It will also help them develop creativity, independence, consistency and responsibility; it will teach them openness and tolerance towards other cultures and different attitudes and beliefs. As a long-term result, it will facilitate their active job searching in the competitive European labor market. The key objectives and results of the project are: to increase mobility, improve the quality of teaching, to obtain higher exam scores, to increase motivation to learn foreign languages, to implement new technologies, to develop key personal, social and professional competencies, to raise awareness of differences between countries and their cultures, to establish good relationships between school and local entrepreneurs, to confront Polish and Italian model of entrepreneurship, to promote " the citizen of the world" attitude. The project implementation through a series of preparation activities and the actual work experience in Italy will contribute to the overall school performance and the school's public relations in local community. The school will be regarded as a highly competent and professional institution of vocational education, and the school graduates will meet the expectations of the global labor market, which is now a platform of mutual communication for both employers and employees. The project implementation will also promote our town, Staszow county, Swietokrzyskie province and Poland in the region of Rimini, Italy, which is an opportunity to encourage Europeans to visit our region as attractive for tourist sightseeing, recreation and health resorts.
