"A systematic improvement of language skills and methodology in the English department, of teaching with the help of modern media like the interactive whiteboard and establishing links to schools in the UK and making contacts with European colleagues" The one-year school education staff project aims at brushing up or improving the English skills of the members of the English department. Furthermore it aims at learning new aspects of methodology, widening the use of technology in class and last but not least at internationalisation of teaching. Altogether the project consists of 10 "mobilities". 5 teachers will take part in in-service training courses for teachers in the UK, 3 teachers will attend the "Language Show" in London. We will also visit e-twinning partner schools twice to visit lessons and learn about the use of the interactive whiteboard, for example, get involved in German lessons there and, above all, in order to intensify our relationship. We hope that these experiences will enrich our methodology to teach classes in a more interesting, varied and effective fashion so that we will gain a long-term effect regarding pupils' achievements. Moreover we hope that our teachers and pupils will be motivated by further international relationships; we also aim at stressing the importance of learning modern languages and communication or networking with other teachers or pupils and hope that the above activities will enable us to carry out more international projects.
