Syncro EVS Sharing is a long-term EVS project with activity taking place in Zagreb, Croatia from 1st September 2015 to 31st July 2016 and it will involves 5 volunteers coming from Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Italy and who are facing certain obstacles in joining such educational projects (such as low living standard, lack of jobs, broken families).
The context of the project is that we see that nowadays young people are facing more educational challenges, the formal education is getting not applicable for the current economic and social structures, and young people are the ones who are mostly affected by it. They either stop education earlier and thus diminish their employability opportunities, or they get in a gap between having a degree and no experience to get a job from.
The objectives that will be achieved through the project are: sharing opportunities for young people to experience mobility and educational projects, organising events based on non-formal education methods, peer education and intercultural learning that are free of charge for the local community. Another objective is to involve more young people to become active in their community in Zagreb, to inform them about possibilities of mobility and educational projects, and to support them to get meaningful experiences from these programs that will contribute to their future employability.
The volunteers will be doing the following tasks: Syncloud – organising a youth club that will happen twice a month in different locations in Zagreb, supporting young people to participate in intercultural and international programs by discussing their expectations, learning goals, and learning achievements, they will also be present on social media and involved in PR so there is more and more young people reached and engaged in the happenings in their community in Zagreb.
The aim of long term EVS project is to encourage 5 volunteers reaching their potential, to create a space of leaning opportunity through participating in non-formal education and to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge for responsible and quality life, and to become active citizens and to take an active role in their lives and in the lives in their communities.
The aims of the EVS activities are to empower people to develop skills, behaviors and acquaintances for responsible life increasing the quality of it. We will support volunteer to become active citizens, to take an active role in their lives and get more involved in their communities by developing new ideas designed to help the communities.
All of the activities for the volunteers and that the volunteers will do will be done through methods of non-formal education and experiential learning. The main impact will be in the local community and by giving back to the community, the project will show them firsthand how volunteering makes a difference and how good it feels to create positive changes in the society. In a long term perspective, all the activities done for the volunteers and by the volunteers will have the impact of increasing the quality of life of everyone involved in this project. Also, once the volunteers go back home, they will take and the attitude of responsibility on how our choices and actions affect other people and continue doing the same back home or in any other environment that they find themselves in.
