Sweden´s Riding Upper Secondary school is offering XX students, in conjunction with 8 stables in Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Italy, the opportunity to do part of their vocational training abroad with the Erasmus + project - Call: 2014, since August 2014. This work place training is mainly financed through economic means provided by the Erasmus+ KA1 Program – Learning Mobility of Individuals – VET learners. Sweden´s Riding Upper Secondary school strongly believes this project will develop the student´s personal, social and professional progress. Hence this will enhance the individual student´s employability/mobility and improve her/his career prospects. SRG believe that the students who have great ability, and need, to develop personally, socially and professionally, and who wish to practice abroad, will be offered in the first place.Partners: (all education and sales stables)* Hasse Hoffmann A/S, Ebeltoft, Denmark * OL Hestecenter, Årslev, Denmark * Ashford Farm, Bocholt, Belgium * Scuderia FLB, Montespertoli, Italy * GDS Training, Weert, the Netherlands * Springstal van der Vleuten, Someren, the Netherlands * Stal Heijligers, Asten, the Netherlands * Stal Hendrix, Kessel, the NetherlandsThe methodology that students meet during the internship, is primarily based on "Hands On-training" which in turn is based on the world famous pragmatists John Dewey's slogan "Learning by doing". The participant receives extensive pre-departure activities such as intercultural and language preparations. Our partners have relevant information regarding laws, tasks, the school´s expectations of partner, documentation, student evaluation, insurance and the overall purpose of the workplace experience abroad. Vocational teachers and stables staff have described parts of the mandatory elements in vocational trainining the document SRG's assessment materials in stables,also avaliable in English. The dialogue between SRG's character subject teachers and partner responsible personnel / supervisor, ensures that operations / tasks going through and performed. During the vocational training abroad the school keeps in close contact with mentors and students by telephone or Skype, concerning the student´s professional and personal progress. Evaluation is held prior to the student´s departure back to Sweden and its aim is to review and reflect over the workplace training and in what ways progress has been obtained. In addition to the conversation, mentor and student complete an evaluation form. This form has been formulated on basis of the Swedish School Authorities policy documents concerning vocational training (APL) and the expected outcome. Tha foreign mentor is obligated to report the student´s achievements/professional/personal outcome to the vocational teacher. The student is to write a report of the internship experience of which the student will make a speech. The audience may consist of fellow students, teachers, parents and SRG personnel. A continuous evaluation of the collaboration discussing the task/routines/safety requirements/working environment/mentors contributions to assure the development of the project.Goals and expected results:Each student participating in SRG:s Erasmus+-project feels upon completion of vocational training abroad:• a development at a professional and personal level• enhanced employability, mobility and career prospects• increased self-empowerment/self-esteem• improved foreign language competences and enhanced intercultural awareness• better awareness of the European project and the UE:s values• increased motivation for taking part in future (formal/non formal) education or training after the mobility period abroad• more active participation in society• documentation of language skills/work experiences using Europass• experiences and specific set of skill she could not have obtained elsewhereSRG, with dedicated EU-staff will before, during and after the Erasmus+-project:• improve management skills and develop internationalization strategies• reinforce the cooperation with international partners in BL, DK, NL, IT• increase quality in preparation, implementation, monitoring , evaluating and follow up of an EU-international project• enhance intercultural awareness an improve foreign language competence • to highlight the EU's education policy program Erasmus + and Sweden Ridgymnasiums collaboration through the project and disseminate this locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.In the long run, SRG to continuously expand its work with companies/partners the EU. This work will be done in particular through the school's International Council, by constantly applying Erasmus + project and clarification of EU education policy objectives through promotion of Erasmus+ on SRG's website /face book page as well as high school fairs, equestrian event such as Gothenburg Horse Show and Stockholm International Horse Show.
