Lifestyle has been rapidly changing in the last two centuries. Life was more oriented to the local environment in the past. The mobility of people from the pre-industrial era was limited by horse-drawn carriage. The distance that took Christopher Columbus a few months of traveling, is able to be reached up to 6 hours nowadays. Changes haven’t happened only in the field of mobility. Since 1763 (the 1st wave of the Industrial revolution) until today it has also revolutionized the industry. In the previous century the primary and secondary economic activities have lost the role because of service activities, which in post-industrial societies represent the largest percentage of GDP. One of these, the booming service activities, that receives many dimensions of mass contemporary industry is tourism. In Youth Network No Excuse Slovenia we are aware of the importance and interdisciplinarity of the tourism. Young people like to travel, discover new cultures, languages, etc.Tourism constitutes an important source of experiential learning, which is in the didactic methodology very appreciated . Youth in MZBIS are looking at the processes through the prism of sustainable development, which combines the interaction between nature, economy and society.Nevertheless we are including learning and social component and take into account the economy or the environment. As reflected by local and foreign tourism statistics it is an important economic factor, which has a role of filling coffers of touristic developed regions and we often forget about the interaction between the environment and tourism.Sustaintour is well linked to the objectives of Erasmus +, especially in the field of education (Europe 2020).With the project Sustaintour we want to develop the idea of sustainable tourism in Slovenia, with the help of examples of good practice from abroad.
