The overall objective of the project is to contribute to restoring the quality of the coast, through the development of a sustainable intervention for Italian and Tunisian partners. The specific objectives are: 1) the pilot intervention in a coastal area of Tunisia aims at reducing the phenomenon of the stranding of residues of Posidonia by changing the artificial barrier of protection (breakwater) and the positioning of systems of capture of Posidonia, 2) in Sicily it will enhance the transformation of beached Posidonia from waste to resource for the territory. Expected Results: The preparation of guidelines for the recovery of coastal areas subject to accumulations of Posidonia. The definition of a standardized methodology for the recovery of Posidonia.The definition of the methodology for use of Posidonia in the formulation of the compost of crop alofite.The implementation of a pilot plant for composting.
