SUSTAINABILITY Vattholma Ecological Farm is an environmental and urban–rural project on a strongly diversified, middle sized organic farm 100km north of Stockholm in Sweden We together with workers, trainees and volunteers farm on an organic level as well as we continually step by step develop the farm to be sustainable. We would like to participate in making the global society more rich of options ex by using ecosystem services more. We have plant production, animal breeding, foresting, construction, maintenance and development around that. We have permaculture education, a 5 step plan for perennial food production and we have several official reseach aeras in agroforestry. We have now and then education and presentations on the farm. We together with the volunteers, give as many perspectives as possible on the subject SUSTAINABILITY and its challenges, from space to micro life. We show the volunteers how to use and how to learn using many different tools and machines that are used in the subprojects. The volunteers participate in the planning of the activities on the farm and its interaction with the rest of the society. Some planed new subprojects are an exhibition plot area with perennial food producing plants, more sun energy projects, vacuum insulation, carbon storing for climate restoring, community cooperation farming etc. By getting experience from several professions in the project the volunteer will be well prepared to approach even other professions. The project has mainly a duration of 12 months. Volunteers from all countries inside and also outside EU are welcome. The numbers of volunteers can be between 1-5.
