Amber Initiatives wants to invite 1 EVS volunteer to work on the project ‘ Supporting migration and mobility ’ in the Amber office in Plymouth, England for 12 months placement, starting in August 2015. The sending organisation is BYPU New Faces, Belarus.
The activities planned for the project aim at exploring the themes of migration, social exclusion and European mobility. The project addresses the needs of young people to tackle socio-economical issues, such as youth unemployment, lack of opportunities to gain transversal skills and work experience.
This project will address a need of European communities: to help young people to tackle socio-economic issues and promote social equity and inclusion.
The project has the following objectives:
- To increase awareness of young people about opportunities available in the frame of LLL programme.
- To boost skills of migrants, which will help them to cope with migration-associated issues.
- To develop web site for young people, providing information about LLL programme and opportunities available to gain transferable skills and work experience.
- Based on Amber experience, to prepare material for web site and other media platform for current or potential migrants to increase their awareness of socio-economical issues and ways to tackle these problems or being better prepared.
The volunteer will gain an insight into local culture through working within the community and through the social activities that form an integral part of the project. The project will focus on European mobility and migration.
The project aims to contribute to personal and professional development of the volunteer as well as help the people from local communities to be aware of different ways to tackle socio-economical issues ( using LLL programme and development their skills to navigate in new environment,). The working environment provides intercultural learning and deep insight into migrants' life.
The potential long- term benefit: the volunteer will increase their knowledge of European programmes, network of providers, and different ways to gain transferable skills to tackle unemployment. I The competences gained will have impact on their employability and career progress.
