Support for Personal and Social Development II
Start date: Aug 1, 2015,
End date: Oct 31, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
The partners of this project are 2 receiving organisations who work in the social sphere SA Perekodu, AS Hoolekandeteenused Imastu Residential School and 2 volunteers from 2 sending organisations : VIA E.v (Germany), Semper Avanti (Poland).
This project is ecpecially directed to supporting people with fewer opportunities as often this target group is the most socially excluded. On one hand, we have gathered in this project receiving organisations, whose clients don't have the best assumptions to learning because of special needs, difficult social background, financial situation and on the other hand we have tried to gather volunteers who have geographical obstacles, who don't have higher education or job experience yet, whose english skills are not the best. With this project we are aiming to give a better chance for the participants to be included into the society. As the Erasmus+ Programme aims at promoting equity and inclusion by facilitating the access to learners with disadvantaged backgrounds and fewer opportunities, the receiving organisations and volunteers have the chance to be more included into the society by learning new culture, language, behaviours, labour skills. To learn, we let the volunteers to be involved in the project to practice work with disabled people and people with difficult social background. The project Support for Personal and Social Development II gives an opportunity for the youth from different countries to come to Estonia, to take their life into their own hands and bring changes not only for themselves but also to receiving organisations and with a butterfly effect, to broader society. With their active participation volunteers will support local people in difficult situations, to adapt into society and encourage them to stay active. This project aims also to bring into society the element of intercultural learning. The project set up is a good chance for all participants to learn the language, differences in cultures and to see the common values we all share. The receiving organisations give enough space for the volunteers to propose and run their initiatives from very beginning until the evaluation phase. It surely raises young people's activeness, entrepreneurship and creative thinking. Through this project, young people can gain knowledge, exercise skills and extend their social networks, which will lead them to new or better employment opportunities in the future, as well as personal and social development. Volunteer's involvement to the receiving organisations will bring a breath of fresh air, new knowledge and ideas.
