SuperPro will create a common co-operation tool for both universities and placement companies with regard to the supervision of project work at a distance/abroad for final year technology and engineering students.The project will develop and introduce an instrument to guarantee the level of academic quality before, during and after a particular placement period with the further aim of rationalising the supervision procedure and facilitating increased contact between supervisors (sending and host) and students.The four phases of the project include; analysis of existing project activity as regards supervision (within the partner countries), development of a net-based tool and supporting manual (to support distance supervision), piloting of the tool with real-life case studies (to be undergone within the final year of the project) and dissemination of the project results (via existing partner networks).The final tool is to be hosted via a dedicated project website with a further support manual (paper-based) being introduced.The vision for this tool is that, once developed, it will become universal for use by universities and higher education institutes across Europe and that it will function as an equivalent to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) or to Europass but specifically for degree-based project work.
