THE ORDU’S FLOWERS IN EUROPE Our project has been planned as oriented for the farmers in the Black Sea Region and the project has been considered to be implemented in the rural areas of Ünye.Turkey is extremely rich in terms of the plant diversity in the world. Our country is the homeland of approximately 3000 endemic species. Among these species, it is extremely rich in terms of the flower bulbs and it is homeland of approximately 700 units of bulbous and tuberous species. The majority of the income obtained from the flower bulbs in our country is obtained from the natural flower bulbs. For long years, the flower bulbs ripped from the nature are exported to the various countries to be used as park and garden ornamental plants, breeding material or medicinal plant. Turkey is among the top countries in the world flower bulb export. Every year, approximately 2-3 million dollars of income is obtained from the exported natural flower bulb type determined with quotas. Even though it is mostly dependent on the collection from the nature, on the other hand, the taking of the natural flower bulbs to the culture and reproducing them have started to gain importance. The natural flower bulbs are the important richness of our country. The ripping of the flower bulbs from the nature puts the future of these species under danger for log years. The production of flower bulb is a new field in our country. The future of the natural flower bulbs and formation of employment and business branch by gaining them to the economy will have contributions to the agricultural development and economy in the regional and country basis. It will provide agricultural production diversity and will form new employments. The countries such as the Netherlands, England from the EU countries obtain important agricultural incomes from the flower bulb production. The utilization of the natural richness that our country possesses according to these mentioned countries and gaining them to the economy are important. Due to the negativities encountered in the various climate factors in our regions in which the export oriented cut flower production in the last years, the Black Sea Region and especially the city of Ordu come into prominence with the climate advantages they have. The region has the potential of being an important center especially due to its nearness to Russia and Central Asia republics. Also, important studies are made by the Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA) for the Black Sea region to be the procurement center of the drug industry raw-material with the natural plant diversity that it possesses. For this reason, with the production of the natural flower bulbs for which we have worked to establish infrastructure in the Black sea region in the cultural environment, the protection of the species and the development of the alternative production models will be provided. The requirement of the expertise in the economies of the countries which become important in the last years also makes the expertise of the human resources obliged in the same parallel. According to the regional and national development strategies determined, it is also required to have expertise in the fields of the cultivation of the cut flower based on the production of the flower bulbs and in the fields of the export oriented qualified production. For the Black Sea region to provide its economical development, the agriculture and tourism are determined as the strategic fields by the State Planning Organization (DPT). For the regions in Turkey to provide their economical developments, the regional expertise is needed in the selected areas.It is clear that the expertise has great importance as both regional and human resources. For this reason, the participation of the participants to the trainings including the main titles of the cut flowering, flower bulbs production and marketing will help them to have expertise in these fields and it will also help to the elimination of the personnel and manager need required for the ensuring of the development in the field of the flower bulb production. As a result, with this project, it will be contributed to the fact that our producers will have expertise in their fields, the need of the trained personnel in the sector will be eliminated and the natural flower bulbs will be produced in the cultural environment and the region and country will make a move in the long term in this field. The action activity covers the trainings oriented for the cut flowering and flower bulb production and export and for the purpose of examining the modern farms which are active in this field, 16 person participant group composed of the personnel of the project partner institutions will make 14 day visit to the city of Brussels in the country of the Belgium.
